Did you know that Studio Seagraves is more than just a web design studio? We also have experience in product design and development, branding, and interior design… Because of this, we love helping entrepreneurs in all aspects of their business. This includes bloggers! Are you looking to take your blog to the next level this year? Here’s a hot tip: To build a strong brand, you have to demonstrate a clear aesthetic — both on social media and on your website.
As we settle into 2022, there are some clear trends emerging for portfolio sites and blogs. Make sure your work stands out among the crowd by integrating some of these elements into your website.
Fade-in text, sliding images, and other animations keep the viewer engaged and demonstrate attention to detail. Many web templates feature built-in animations that instantly elevate the design — without the headache of custom coding.
2. Mixed Typography
A website’s fonts can make or break the design… and two or more carefully chosen fonts can encourage viewers to keep reading. Look for a web template with a mix of serif and sans serif fonts for a clean, modern look.
3. Monochromatic Colors
When it comes to blogs and portfolio websites, it’s important that the images are the focal point. Even though bright and bold colors are having a moment right now, it’s best to keep image-heavy sites a little more muted. Opt for a template with a neutral background and no more than one pop of color or two.
4. Interesting Lines
Underlined text, horizontal lines between sections, and borders around images are really popular right now. To stay on trend, opt for thin, straight lines or lines in modern arches and curves.
5. Easy-to-navigate Homepage
Encourage visitors to keep reading by featuring several stories with beautiful imagery on the homepage. Share your latest posts and fan favorites to give your readers plenty of articles to choose from.
We used all of these design elements when building Nusa, our latest Squarespace template designed specifically for bloggers. If you’re looking to document 2022 in style, you can find Nusa here in the Squaremuse.
Happy new year from all of us at Studio Seagraves!
